Core Keeper has dropped a new set of updates slated for the foreseeable future. That’s right, a new roadmap has dropped, leading up to an important, exciting update.

There are three major updates, each with their own details on what each one will be themed around. Of course, beyond these major updates will be minor updates. These are the typical balances and bugfixes, but there’s always a real possibility of changes and additions. Nevertheless, we still have a stack of updates to get through, so why don’t we take a look?
First stop: Riders of the Underground
The underground is a sprawling mass of cave systems (or a giant ocean), so getting around can get a little tricky. Sure, there are waypoints to get around, but what if you need to go further than that? As the underground grows bigger, so does the time it takes to get to each location.

Since this update is expected sometime this year, we do have more details beyond the name of the update. Expect another means of transport, but also expect some changes to how the game already functions. More weapons, more monsters, more pets!
Mages and Warlocks, fret no more, because this update will also bring some new changes to your play style. What is there to expect? We will just have to wait.
Next stop: Trials of the Depths
This one’s an enigmatic one. As many of us know, the developers are keen on keeping update details a secret, and this is no different.
What we do know is that this will be an update for the experts, veterans, or those that like diving head-first into trouble. We could be looking at a gauntlet of bosses, a challenge run that tests your wit and skills. It could also be a significantly harder difficulty. All that can be said for now is that this update could hurt.
Last stop: Beyond the Breach
This will be the meat to go with the potatoes of this road map. Currently, the farthest we can go in the underground is the Breaker’s Reach, a sprawling tunnel system of machinations and pockets of void.
For those who have already conquered the Breaker’s Reach and defeated S.A.H.A.B.A.R, you may have received a mysterious little item, but it doesn’t seem to work. Maybe you found where you can put the item, but it still doesn’t appear to function. This update, just like the last major update that introduced Breaker’s Reach, will unlock the function and break through the barrier.

What’s going to be on the other side? We can only speculate for now. The developers have mentioned that this update will be a “pivotal moment in the game”, which tells us that whatever is beyond the breach, it’s going to be something vastly different, something new. We may have seen teasers throughout, indicating something is greater beyond this area. Will we see an infinite expanse? The true nature of the underground? Something unpredictable? Only time will tell.
When will there be more info?
As stated a few times, we just have to wait for more details to come through. When these updates get closer to release, we will know more, but for now, all we can do is wait in anticipation for what’s to come. Of course, more details will be dropped into the Core Keeper community, so keep an eye out for sneak peaks, teasers, or a showcase.
In the meantime, why not spin up a Core Keeper server? You are going to need some preparation time for the next line of updates, and with each update, the game will only get bigger.
